FAQ
Is this resource package for students or teachers?
Both. Students can work through the tasks and activities in the package
by themselves if they like. However, they will get much more out of them
under the guidance and supervision of their English teacher.
Are there any support materials for teachers?
Yes. However, to access them, you must first identify yourself as a teacher
on the front page. Advice on How
to use IT to enhance English-language learning, a link to the Integrating
IT archive on Clarity's own website, and a page of Useful
links.
How do the learning resources fit into the CDC Syllabuses for English
Language?
Perfectly. Not only have the resources been designed within an
overall task-based approach, they have also been analysed according to
the learning targets set out in the CDC Syllabuses for English Language
(Primary 1-6) 1997 and (Secondary 1-5) 1999. In addition, they also fit
perfectly into the framework provided by the Exemplar and Suggested Modules
and Units in these syllabuses.
What is an authentic text?
A "real" text - in other words, one that already existed in
its own right before this resource package was developed.
What are the advantages of using authentic texts for language learning?
Principally, they make the learning process more "real"
and more motivating. They also expose students to the different cultures
of the English-speaking world.
